Apostolic Perspectives: A Higher Level of Equipping

January 29th, 2008 · No Comments · Apostolic Perspectives

HigherThe Body of Christ has been progressively rising to new levels of maturity. Much of this has been due to the process of development of what we know as the “five-fold ministry” expression. Since the “equipping of the saints” takes place through the function and anointing of these “ascension gift” graces, it is understandable that they must lead the way in transformation and growth. Simply put, we cannot take people beyond where we have been ourselves. In a pioneering sense, we are going ahead to discover new possibilities and then proclaiming what we have seen so that others can come behind us to “possess the land.” The current cultural alterations and greater global awareness necessitate that we delve into these new opportunities that are presently before us.

Testing

Anyone involved in spiritual leadership has been undergoing great testing - not only in character and issues of the heart, but greater dimensions of faith and trust in the Word.Entire churches, fellowships, and ministries are experiencing the stresses and challenges that are producing a maturity that will make them “sanctuaries” of glory where the presence of God can be found. These are all preparations for functioning in a deeper dimension of the Spirit. Pay close attention to the personal areas that God is targeting for your transformation.

Recognition-Receptivity-Reward

When we receive the prophet, we will also receive his reward (Matthew 10:41). The same holds true for any other “gift” (ministry grace). Each of the ministry graces carries with it a corresponding impartation that is unique to itself. When we recognize it by the spirit and accept it as a legitimate facet of the manifold wisdom of God, we will also receive the deposit that it is designed to make, thus equipping us for the season and situation. Don’t discount the gift because you don’t like the packaging, you may be missing the very thing you need for your next assignment.

We are in a season of great change and the “wind of God” is blowing. Be attentive to where He wants to take you. Be submitted to what He wants to do in you. Be available for what He wants to do through you.

“We will only be as effective as we are equipped.”
