On many occasions, myself and other team members have been the first foreigners to visit certain geographical areas in particular countries. Here are a few discoveries I have made when introducing a people group to the good news of the Gospel of the Kingdom.
- People are spiritually hungry and searching for answers to questions of the heart. The Word of God is not a compilation of “pat answers” but rather contains solutions to the issues that hold men in bondage.
- The nations rejoice when they hear about the love of Jesus. People gladly receive the message of hope that promises life. They don’t need to be coerced or manipulated through fear.
- No one enjoys being bound by sin, sickness, disease, depression, fear, etc. and when offered the gift of forgiveness through repentance, they usually respond in faith and are healed.
- People everywhere love to be prayed for and will readily allow you to call upon God on their behalf. They will almost always respond positively when they encounter someone who actually cares about them enough to minister to their need.
- God will confirm His Word with signs that follow. Our message is not one of word only, but something that must also be demonstrated with a supernatural unction and anointing of the Holy Spirit
“Philip went down to the city of Samaria and began proclaiming Christ to them. The crowds with one accord were giving attention to what was said by Philip, as they heard and saw the signs which he was performing. For in the case of many who had unclean spirits, they were coming out of them shouting with a loud voice; and many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed. So there was much rejoicing in the city.” (Acts 8:5-8)
Give the nations an opportunity to rejoice and allow God to receive the glory for what He will accomplish through your obedience as you take His message of redemption to the uttermost parts of the earth.
