Breakthrough: An appointed time for the church to advance

May 15th, 2008 · No Comments · Apostolic Perspectives

There is a principle of “breakthrough” that can be observed and applied to many areas. History is full of recorded incidents where a particular barrier has been penetrated and subsequently opened a pathway for others to enter into a new dimension.

Have you ever noticed when a long-standing sports record is broken, that it is soon broken again? Even scientific breakthroughs set the pace for newer discoveries to be made at a quicker pace than previously done. Church growth patterns indicate that it is exponentially easier and significantly faster to grow from 1,000 to 2,000 participants than it is to grow from 0 to 1,000.

I believe that what we are witnessing through the Lakeland Outpouring is way more than an isolated event, and I am encouraging everyone to view it as such. It is undoubtedly an appointed time of breakthrough and a powerful opportunity for the Church to advance.

Whether you agree with how it is being done or the personality who it is being done through, you cannot escape the fact that barriers are being broken daily. We are in a time of significant spiritual breakthrough! Apply it to yourself, your relationships, ministry, church, etc. and you will immediately find yourself functioning at a different level.

God is using what we refer to as a “revival” to create a great breakthrough for the Body of Christ. I believe this will significantly change the way things are done and empower His people to live as He commanded with a fresh passion, and carry out the Great Commission with greater effectiveness.

Let the Church advance!
