There is a huge build-up mounting in the spirit. Personally, I have never experienced anything like it in my twenty three years as a Christian. The Bride of Christ is hungry and desperate for the Bridegroom Jesus. Through my limited perspective, I will share what I believe to be a few variables that have worked together to create a time of great breakthrough and advancement of the Church.

Prayer ministries. For the past seven or eight years we have been seeing a powerful thrust in the area of intercessory prayer, led by such groups as IHOP and the Call. The foundational understanding of these ministries is clear about the fact that they are not the movement per se, but rather, “forerunners” who are going ahead to prepare the way for something greater that is coming. It awesome to believe and participate in this kind of ministry by faith, but when you begin to see the “greater” starting to manifest, it makes every sacrifice worthwhile.

Healing ministries. There are way too many to mention, but thank God for the front-line ministers who have withstood so much criticism and continue to contend that healing is the “children’s bread.”

Worship ministries. The quality and depth of worship leaders and worship music continues to be more anointed and more glorious. I guess it is all a part of the “line upon line” principle, but please let it increase so that it can take us even higher. (In the next few days, I hope to write a post on how worship is a key catalyst in the Lakeland Outpouring.)

Our local church has committed to an eleven day prayer focus beginning on May 1 (National Day of Prayer for the U.S.), and culminating on May 11 (Global Day of Prayer). What we are witnessing in our small local sphere is amazing. What we are hearing from others all over the world is encouraging. God is moving in a greater way, for sure!

This Sunday, May 11, 2008 (also Pentecost), thousands of Christians from around the world will be converging in Jerusalem for a day of massive intercessory prayer (You can watch it live on GodTV or on the net [click here]). Together let’s believe for a unprecedented outpouring of the Spirit of God throughout the whole earth!
