“Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:20)
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…” (Colossians 3:15)
There is a big difference between guarding our heart and closing our heart. We don’t guard it by closing it. We guard it by first obtaining the peace that Jesus (the Prince of peace) gives us, and then allowing that peace to rule from the throne of our heart.
Two things continue to astound me. The amount of Christians who have no peace (which is an indicator that something else is ruling their heart), and those who are closed off concerning what God desires to do (which, of course would begin with establishing them in peace).
As we enter this fresh moving of God’s Spirit on the earth it will be critical for us to allow the peace of God to rule our hearts. There will be many counter situations, oppositions, and distractions that will arise in an attempt to thwart what God is doing in us. Don’t allow these things to rob you of peace.
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” (John 14:27)
Peace is the watchman. Keep him on duty. We are moving from glory to glory!
