Let’s face it. Things are moving at an unprecedented pace. Technologies are improving so that we can we can multi-task by doing more than we have ever done in less time. This can be a good thing if we are focused on a specific end result. However, with all of this great potential I have noticed something taking place that can become counter productive to our character, relationships, and the quality of the product of our life.
Could it be that we are doing so much, so much faster, that we are not doing much of it well? And still we remain unfulfilled…
Where and when do things reach their capacity and what is the result of trying to push beyond the limits? The present state of our economy is just such an example. The world has leveraged debt beyond its ability to meet its commitments, and the house is collapsing under the weight of unsecured loans.
A person can only maintain so many relationships. Everyone has a skill limit. The human body can only process so much stress. There is only so much time in one day.
Maybe it’s time to assess what we do, how and why we do it, and become more purposeful in our actions.
