As I look out the window of my connecting flight to Iguacu I am captivated by a strange sight. At the end of the runway of the Sao Paulo airport is an aircraft graveyard. An assortment of old commercial aircraft sit broken-down in a fenced area. Many of them are covered in mold and with weeds growing up around the landing gear.
I get a sad feeling when I think that these great ships once spent most of their time soaring through the heavens but are now forever bound to the earth and destined for the recyclers fire. I think there is a sermon here…
The sight of the Sao Paulo from the air is amazing! 30+ million people - the largest city in the world. Buildings just as far as the eyes can see. The city eventually make way to farm land as we head for the interior.
